Get ready to float again, as it looks like Andy Muschietti is just about ready to start production on IT: Chapter Two.

Scaring the pants off its audiences and winning over the box office in 2017, Muschietti successfully adapted Stephen King’s 1986’s novel and rebooted the story after the 1990 TV adaptation. Bill Skarsgård took over from Tim Curry in the role of Pennywise the Dancing Clown, proving that horror remakes and re-adaptations aren’t all necessary bad ideas. However, with only half the story told, all of Hollywood is waiting on tenterhooks for Chapter Two.

Although Chapter Two will pick up the story some 27 years later with a new cast of actors playing the adult Losers Club, Muschietti already confirmed that the loveable bunch of youngsters from the first movie will return in some form (like flashbacks). Taking to Instagram, Muschietti shared a snap of the kids alongside the caption, “Wake up, losers. Derry is calling.” Pictured are the likes of Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, and Wyatt Oleff, who will reprise their roles as Beverly, Richie, and Stanley respectively.

Although a sequel wasn’t a foregone conclusion,  IT was one of 2017’s biggest movies and one of the highest-grossing horror films of all time - making it a no-brainer decision for WB to green-light and fast track Chapter Two. The sequel is set to start filming this summer for a September 2019 theatrical release, meaning that production isn’t getting underway quite yet. Still, given the hype surrounding Chapter Two, you can’t blame Muschietti for wanting to get a head start on things.

With Jessica Chastain now formally in talks for IT: Chapter 2 and name actors like Chris Pratt and Jake Gyllenhaal nominated by fans to play the other adult Losers, Muschietti’s post mostly seems to confirm that the kid Losers are heading back to work now. With the movie following the second half of King’s book, the younger actors may only be used in a minor capacity to link the two films together. Either way, horror fans are sure to be over the moon that Pennywise is crawling out of the sewers for IT: Chapter Two to once again haunt everyone’s nightmares.
